How to Complete The Box Quest in Build A Boat For Treasure

Carry the Mystery Box safely to the end in Build A Boat For Treasure with a centered cargo hull, no flying parts, and a verified completion check.

The Box is a listed Build A Boat For Treasure quest that spawns a Mystery Box on the team plot and asks you to transport it to the end. Community documentation records a “no flying parts” rule. Build a conventional, low cargo boat and keep the box centered; do not depend on an aircraft or an old bypass.

Prepare a cargo hull first

Before starting the quest, save a short, wide boat with a strong central spine and a protected cargo bay. Leave the center open for the spawned box. Put the driver seat slightly behind the bay and connect both to several floor blocks.

Build low side walls around the cargo area, but do not seal it until you see the box’s size and behavior. Use durable material at the base and common blocks as outside armor. Avoid tall towers and long front extensions that increase flipping.

Remove flying parts identified by the live quest description. A normal seat and passive hull are easier to validate than a design that may be rejected for a hidden turbine or lift device.

Start the quest and secure the box

Open the quest menu on the plot, select The Box, and confirm that the Mystery Box appears. Community records say it spawns already active in the center of the building space. Wait to see its size and any behavior before loading or completing the protective frame.

Fit the saved hull around it or load the prepared base only if the object remains present. Build several connections around the cargo bay without clipping or pinning the box in a way that prevents the quest from recognizing it.

Protect the top from falling hazards while keeping the overall center of mass low. Add a front bumper that can break away without opening the cargo bay.

Launch and run the river

Launch to release the craft and carry the box into the stage route. Use moderate speed. Sudden acceleration, flips, and side impacts can displace cargo even when the box itself is durable.

Keep the nose pointed through open water and avoid unnecessary steering. If the boat loses outside armor, continue while the central bay and seat remain connected. At force-heavy stages, reduce inputs and let the low symmetrical hull settle before correcting direction.

Do not leave the box behind to finish with only the player. If the cargo separates, observe where and redesign that connection for the next attempt.

Trigger completion at the end

Community documentation says the quest completes when the activated Mystery Box reaches the Treasure area and does not require the box to physically touch the Treasure chest or beach. Treat that as Community reported until your server displays the completion message.

At the final area, keep the box with the craft and wait. Do not clear blocks, reset, or leave immediately. Capture the success text and compare Gold and Mystery Box inventory before and after.

The maintained wiki reports a first-clear reward of Gold plus one Mystery Box and says later completions do not grant the same reward. Exact amounts and repeatability must be confirmed in the live quest panel and result.

Fix the common failures

If the quest does not start, confirm the team leader, active quest state, and menu. If the box disappears after loading, start again and change the order: load the base first when allowed, then accept, then finish the bay around the object.

If the box launches out of the hull, lower it, add a roof with clearance, and reduce acceleration. If the craft flips, lower heavy blocks and widen the protected core. If the quest rejects the build, remove every part that could count as flying and reread the rule.

If you reach the end without a completion message, confirm the box is still present and active, remain in the destination area, and try a fresh server. Do not claim the reward was removed from one ambiguous failure.

Improve without breaking the rule

Use stronger blocks only around the central floor, cargo bay, and seat. Add sacrificial armor around them. A faster propulsion system is not automatically helpful; survival and cargo retention are the objective.

For a team attempt, assign one player to steering and others to watching the box and hull. Confirm nobody presses Launch early. The critical frame should be owned and saved by a player who can reload it if the team changes.

After completion, keep the quest boat as a cargo template for other objectives. Rename the save so it is not confused with an ordinary river boat.

Use Quest Index for other listed activities and Treasure Route for the final approach. The Best Blocks guide helps protect the bay without wasting scarce inventory.

Evidence status: The Box quest, Mystery Box cargo objective, and no-flying rule are Community corroborated. The reported completion trigger, one-time reward, and current reward contents are Community reported as of September 18, 2026 and Need in-game testing in the live quest.
