Blocks are the inventory, structure, armor, controls, and moving systems behind every Build A Boat For Treasure creation. A useful block choice depends on the job. A durable cube may protect the seat, a light part may keep a flyer controllable, a hinge may create rotation, and a portal may move a player or part between linked positions. Calling one of them “best” without a job hides the decision you actually need to make.

Understand the main block families

Material blocks form floors, walls, armor, braces, and decoration. Their useful traits include strength, weight, shape, inventory supply, and whether your tools can edit them. Wood is plentiful and easy to sacrifice; denser or rarer materials are better reserved for the protected core until the inventory grows.

Shape pieces include rods, wedges, corners, bars, trusses, and other geometry used to reduce snagging or create detail. A wedge at the front can present a smoother contact surface, but a badly connected decorative piece can become a lever that twists the hull.

Movement and control parts include seats, wheels, motors, hinges, servos, pistons, turbines, switches, buttons, and related mechanisms. They add behavior, so they also add direction, binding, property, and activation problems. Prove one moving joint before copying it across a vehicle.

Ability and utility parts can provide balloons, parachutes, shields, portals, harpoons, magnets, cannons, cameras, signs, lights, delay behavior, and other specialized effects. Availability and behavior are especially update-sensitive. Treat the live Shop and inventory description as the current answer.

Event, quest, and secret rewards may be one-time, seasonal, historical, or still obtainable through a puzzle. Do not assume a block seen in an old showcase can be earned today. Check the matching quest or secret route before designing around it.

Compare strength without ignoring the build

Community records describe strength as the hit points a block can lose to obstacles before it breaks. That makes strength important for the bow, underside, seat cage, and central connections. It does not make the strongest listed object the best hull material. A huge wheel and a normal cube have different geometry and roles even when the wheel’s recorded durability is higher.

Weight and strength do not always rise together. Community pages specifically warn that a heavier material can have less strength than another option. Added volume also changes the mass of scaled material blocks. Test whether stronger armor makes the craft harder to steer, more likely to fall nose-first, or too heavy for the chosen lift.

Use layers by purpose: replaceable outside armor, a durable inner frame, and protected controls. If a collision destroys the buffer but leaves the frame and seat together, the design worked even though blocks were lost.

Build with redundancy

A large inventory cannot save a craft held together through one critical block. Connect the left and right sides across several points. Carry the seat through a central spine and at least one surrounding layer. Attach propulsion, wheels, or mechanisms to a frame that can survive the loss of a nearby decorative panel.

Redundancy also helps with moving creations. A mech leg needs a strong attachment around the joint without accidentally welding the moving sections together. An AFK farm needs anchored or stable supports where a shift would break portal alignment. A quest craft needs protection that respects the quest’s current restrictions.

Save before a major binding, scaling, or property edit. If selection catches an unintended block, reload the safe version rather than untangling a complex assembly by guessing.

Spend Gold and inventory deliberately

When nearly every block is useful, several cheap chest pulls can add more building volume than one expensive pull. When the inventory is mature, direct Shop items, a specific tool, or a known quest reward may solve more than another random chest. Read the live quantity and cost before buying.

Do not use rare material as disposable outer armor merely because it has a higher value. Place a small amount where failure ends the run: around the seat, central spine, or joint mount. Use common material where the design expects contact. This makes the same inventory survive more attempts.

For a creative display build that never launches, strength may not matter at all. Shape, color, transparency, scale, and available quantity can be the correct priority. Separate “best for the river” from “best for appearance.”

Check availability and source

Every useful record should answer: Is it obtainable now? Is the source the Shop, a permanent chest, a quest, a secret, an event, a badge, a gamepass, or a legacy item? Is it one-time or repeatable? Does the live interface still show the same cost and quantity?

If a community list calls an item available but the current Shop does not show it, check whether it rotates, belongs to a limited panel, or requires an activity. If the source cannot be reproduced, keep the block in a historical or unknown state instead of sending players through an invented route.

Choose by build type

For a starter boat, prioritize plentiful structure, a reinforced core, and a protected seat. For a fast vehicle, balance frame strength against weight and keep steering parts protected. For a mech, prioritize repeatable joints, symmetrical limb segments, and enough clearance. For an AFK farm, prioritize stable alignment, reliable reset, and parts you can replace. For a detailed model, prioritize shape variety and tools before river durability.

The same block can move between roles. A heavy part may stabilize a base but harm a flyer. A collision-off cosmetic shell may preserve appearance while behaving differently against hazards. Record the property state with the block name so another player can reproduce the result.

Current evidence boundary

The community Block wiki and independent indexes agree that the game has a large catalog spanning materials and ability parts, but they publish different totals. This hub does not repeat a disputed total or present a historical list as the live inventory. Strength, weight, price, and obtainability belong beside a check date.
